mail call... holiday cards

I never bother getting the mail most days of the year, until December 1st comes around. Then it's the first things on my mind when returning home. My mailbox is frequently jammed full of holiday greetings.

Such fan mail has always been well received. I myself have been known to send out a holiday card with a form letter each year to not just close friends and family but anyone who willingly gives me their address. It's pretty easy to make my list; however, a little harder to stay on it. Rule #1: Unless you're old and gray and don't get out much you must return the kindness and either send me one back or at the very least acknowledge that you've been sent one. After two attempts on my end and none on yours you're off the list!

This year I received a couple [2] electronic greeting. Though cost effective, and very green... not the same thing! I LIKE GETTING MAIL.

Today more than two billion Christmas cards are exchanged annually, just within the United States. Christmas is the number one card-selling holiday of the year.

My question is why on January 3rd, 2012 am I still getting them? Is it poor planning on behalf of the sender, or is it the U.S. postal service? Either way I'm liking it!

We've yet to send out our card, so you shall get another! Since we're late it will be a New Years letter. We're just waiting on the pics.

We loved your pic and letter! It's hanging in our card holder on our wall. I tend to keep it up until March-ish--I too love holiday mail.

Cheers!
